1. Sixty Vines
Located in uptown Dallas, in Hotel Crescent Court, Sixty Vines is a perfect wine and dine spot. I did go here for pizza but they have a long list of wine. Now there is Sixty Vines in Houston too, rice village area! Their wine is good by the way. Their margherita pizza was delicious but a bit salty. Lime sparking soda was refreshing as well. You can sit at the bar but this day was so busy, it wasn’t a relaxing dinner kinda night. It is good for big groups or a girls’ night.
2. West Village
You can think of West Village in Dallas like the Rice Village in Houston. There’s a lot of places to eat around and shop. Several murals by the parking lot to take cute Instagram photos!
3. Brewed + Pressed
A health food cafe located in West Village Dallas. Came here to grab a quick lunch. I ordered sweet potato kale bowl with green shake. This green shake has vivid green cold-pressed juice, frozen banana and activated raw almonds. I like smoothies like these that are made on the spot, but they have other pre-packaged drinks. I personally think those pre-package drinks are full of sugar so I tend to avoid. Brewed + Pressed was not too busy and the interior even made me feel like I am making the right choice!
4. Bisous Pâtisserie
A cute cafe in West Village Dallas. I wasn’t craving any desserts but those macarons look so good. Ended up getting a drink called Lorina, a French soda. The flavor I tried was the blood orange. It was refreshing but I don’t think I will get it again because it really just tastes like sparkling Fanta.
5. Public 412
This place sparked my interest because of their school themed interior! Even their menus are under ‘recess’ and ‘today’s curriculum’! Public 412 has a lot of craft beers and they are made from scratch. I went with their thai shrimp noodle salad and it was so delicious. I definitely want to go back here, they seem to have a lot of yummy plates and I just love their school decor!
6. Local Press + Brew
A cozy cafe near by. I got an avocado toast and it was really good! Funny story, ever since this avocado toast, I make the way they make it when I make my own homemade avocado toast! So healthy and delicious. Local Press + Brew has a patio area and you can order coffee there. I liked how modern their interior was. A lot of people seemed to take-out food here and they have very limited parking spots.
7. Highland Park Village
If you are feeling like you want to spend some, Highland Park Village is the place to do shopping and grab food. You can think of it as River Oaks Shopping Center in Houston. I think Highland Park Village has more variety in brands though. They have designer boutiques like Balenciaga, Theory, Tom Ford, Fendi, Saint Laurent etc.
8. Teddy Bear Park
If you are already at the Highland Park Village, be sure to check out this Teddy Bear Park! These cute and giant teddy bear statues are in the Lakeside Park. Lakeside Park is peaceful and you can job around or take a stroll with the family. Feel free to park your car alongside of the road. You can meet these teddy bears once you cross the bridge.
9. Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden
Beautiful arboretum you should check out if you are in Dallas! There are so many to see. The admission is $17 and the parking is $15. Quite the charge but I like it’s worth it since you can spend hours looking around the flowers, plants, trees, and artwork. Plus it’s a good place to relax and take a walk. Additionally, if I were to live in the area, I would walk or bike to this arboretum since on the way is pretty nice too. Dallas arboretum is located in the southeastern shore of White Rock Lake and it’s really peaceful.
10. Original Chop Shop
Absolutely love this store — you need to go! Not only their interior screams sunshine but their food is bomb and staffs are friendly. I ordered kale caesar wheat wrap with shrimp and it left me wanting for more. I still cannot forget the taste. Original chop shop is a healthy food chain in Dallas, did you know?
